Alice Faye Weathersbee passed away peacefully in her sleep on September 7, 2021 at the age of 77.
Born on March 15, 1944 in Norfolk, VA to Willie E. Vanhorn and Penny Sexton Vanhorn. Faye was sister number six out of seven sisters. Faye married Allen Weathersbee Jr and they had two children, Susan Lean Weathersbee and Ricky Allen Weathersbee whom were awaiting her arrival in heaven.
She leaves to mourn three sisters, five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Additionally, she leaves to mourn several nieces, nephews and countless others whom also called her grandma.
Faye was a remarkable woman who had many talents I'm not sure there's anything she couldn't do. She would make candy with her sisters every year around Christmas specializing in making turtles, family was everything to her. Faye and her husband sold used cars at Roper Auto Sales for years she even had a paint booth out back to repaint cars that needed a little love. She volunteered her time and decorating abilities at the first few Roper Christmases and Peanut Festivals adding the perfect touches here and there. She could also be found at estate sales and antique auctions hunting for teacups, teapots, and fine China to put in her antique shop. Her door was always open, anyone that needed a place to stay or a shoulder to cry on was welcome at her house. She touched the lives of so many people over the years.
A memorial service will be held for Faye Saturday, September 11th, 11:00am at Zion's Chapel Church of Christ in Roper.
Dee Barnes is grateful for the compassionate care her grandmother received from the staff of Community Hospice and is asking that donations be made to them in lieu of flowers.
