Pauline R. Askew Styons (93) of Plymouth, North Carolina was born to Joe Edward Askew and Thelma Respess Askew on June 16, 1928 in Washington County, North Carolina.
Pauline’s family includes her husband of 66 years, David Marion Styons (deceased); sisters, Lillian Ann Askew Swain and Thelma Jo Askew Nobles, Lillian Askew (deceased), brother-in-laws, J.D. Swain (deceased), Ira Wayne Nobles (deceased); children (4), Paula Styons Snider, David Joe Styons, Corinthia Styons Mizelle, Thomas Scott Styons, Grandchildren (11), – Edward D. Snider II, Mark Ethan Snider, Kenneth James Snider, Joanna Eve Snider, Nathaniel Paul Snider, Cheri, Will, Mary Elizabeth Mizelle and Belinda (deceased), Michael and Lauren; Great Grandchildren (25) – Aubrey Snider, Isaiah Snider (deceased), Spencer Snider, Austin Snider, Madison Snider, Kallie Lange, Caulan Snider, Joseph Snider, Anna Snider, Alexandra Snider, Melania Snider, Bianca Snider, Charlie, Camron Snider, Will and Max’s 3 children, David and Michelle’s Heather, Kallie, Chase, Taylor, Alexus; Corinthia’s Elizabeth; Michael and Priscilla’s Javin and Cloe; Great-Great Grandchildren (5) – Thoren Snider, Lucas Snider and Lillianna Snider, David and Michelle’s grandchildren, Evelyn and Gavin.

Pauline was a member of the Plymouth Church of Christ and volunteered as an organist. She practiced playing the piano and organ at home and encouraged her family to sing. She loved working in her flower gardens, and enjoyed the humming birds. She and daddy helped the family as well as their community, including Pop. Going to the beach with the family was a special treat for all. To be near her husband, she learned to hunt. She and daddy always offered a helping hand to others and shared whatever they had. The family loved mama and daddy very much. We miss them but have good memories about the time spent together.
